After Maniago, towards Paris 2024

Twelve athletes, including four called up for the Italian national team, have represented Team Equa at the third round of the 2024 World Cup in Maniago, in the province of Pordenone. For some, this was their last chance to qualify for the Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

Despite the general bad weather on the first day, which forced the organizers to redesign the race program for safety reasons, the Team Equa won two golds, one silver, three bronzes and 9 placings in the top 10.

The athletes who participated in the race are: Lorenzo Bernard–Davide Plebani, Riccardo Cadei, Chiara Colombo–Elena Bissolati, Fabio Colombo–Claudio Rizzotto, Eduard Moescu (with the colors of Romania, Fabrizio Cornegliani, Claudia Cretti, Martino Pini, Luisa Pasini, Ana Maria Vitelaru, Andrea Tarlao.

Svetlana Moshkovich was also present for the Austrian National Selection. For the time trial two Team athletes placed on the podium, namely: Fabrizio Cornegliani and Luisa Pasini, and other members have held many of the subsequent positions in the ranking.

More specifically: 4th Svetlana Moshkovich, 5th Ana Maria Vitelaru, 7th Claudia Cretti, 8th Andrea Tarlao, 13th Chiara Colombo-Elena Bissolati, 20th Fabio Colombo- Claudio Rizzotto, 21st Riccardo Cadei, 22nd Eduard Moescu. For the line test, Luisa Pasini, Fabrizio Cornegliani and Ana Maria Vitelaru went to the podium. While the other positions occupied are: 5th Martino Pini, 5th Chiara Colombo-Elena Bissolati, 6th Svetlana Moshkovich, 7th Andrea Tarlao, 16th Eduard Moescu, 28th Riccardo Cadei. Finally, for the Team Relay test, in 4th place, we find Martino Pini, Luca Mazzone and Federico Mestroni.

An honorable mention goes to Davide Plebani who unfortunately was unable to competeno evidence as he was called to return to be close to his partner Elisa Balsamo (also a professional cyclist) involved in a bad accident during the sprint of the “Vuelta a Burgos” in Spain. The month of May was very busy, but now let’s give away some rest.

Now we move on to the retreats in which our athletes will try to plan their preparation for the end of August. We will soon know the official calls. to the athletes preparing for the Paris 2024 Paralympics, which are ever closer!
